Objective. This workshop is designed to inform participants about the LUCC Enterprise purpose and objectives, to stimulate interaction among campus researchers, and to develop collaborations within the academic community. The purpose of this initiative is to promote collaboration between faculty, staff and students engaged in research and outreach related to land use and land cover change at local, regional and global scales. Provided below is the proposed schedule of events for the LUCC workshop, including a list of breakout session topics.

Format. The workshop will provide brief overviews of the general concepts behind the development of a research enterprise on the MSU campus, followed by directed break-out group sessions where faculty can address specific issues and identify priorities, strategies, and requirements in smaller, focused group discussions.

Output. The workshop organizers plan to integrate the reports of the workshop and break out groups into a report forwarded to the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies.
