The potential payment under the proposed scenario is:
$
( lbs. total phosphorus x $ per lb. annual reduction)
Your proposed management plan resulted in an increase in phosphorus losses from your field(s). Your plan must result in a reduction to be eligible for a payment.
Provide a name for this project.
For example, Project 1, North Field, Smith Farm.
Or, add the analysis to an existing project.
Enter a project name:
Existing projects:
Outline the boundaries of the field(s) you want to analyze.
Click the button below to begin drawing.
Double-click to finish drawing a field.
Click the button when finished.
Next, you will complete a survey to describe your field(s) and agricultural operation, and select management changes to evaluate potential impacts on nutrient run-off and yields.
Survey status:
Click the button below to begin the calculation of results for your operation's baseline condition,
and for the condition of the proposed scenario you described in the survey.
The results will show you the changes in the proposed scenario, and how much of a payment they may
translate into.
This calculator will estimate the potential payment you could be eligible for through the Accelerating Conservation Adoption in the River Raisin
program.
Note that bonus payments are capped at $1,000 per farmer per year.
To get a more precise estimate, select a conservation simulation so the calculator can factor in projected reductions in phosphorus runoff and sediment loading
into the payment.

Payments through this project are based upon the adopted conservation practices, acreage, estimated reductions
in phosphorus and sediment loading to streams, and other incentives.
The results from this tool can be utilized to get an estimated overall payment for your conservation plan.
The table below lists the current base payment rates for eligible conservation practices. Practices that are no longer available are crossed out.
The rates below were updated on 8/6/2021 to reflect 2021 EQIP rates.

1. In the example below, the drawn feature did not adequately cover the field's northeast corner.
2. On the Draw table, click on the orange pencil to edit the feature.
3. Use the feature anchors to move, resize, or reshape its boundaries.
4. Note the updated boundary and acreage.
Under the My Projects menu button, click on Load/Edit Projects.
A window will open up on the left-hand side of the screen, allowing you to navigate your projects and simulations.
1. Click on a project name to view its saved simulations.
2. Click on a simulation name to load its field boundaries and model results.
Once a simulation is loaded, its field boundaries are visible, and a View Modeled Results button becomes available. Click it to view the results.
Under the My Projects menu button, click on Run All Scenarios.
Select a saved simulation to do the analysis on. The survey answers in that simulation that described the current operations will be used to represent the baseline scenario.
When the analysis is complete, you will be emailed a spreadsheet with the results. It will contain over 5,000 rows, but the steps below will help you sort it. The email will also contain a
text file that describes each column in the spreadsheet.
To expand the width of all the spreadsheet columns so that they are viewable, click on the green triangle in the upper left-hand corner of the spreadsheet to select all of the columns.
↓
Then, position your cursor right between the A and B columns so that it appears like the crosshairs with arrows (below), then double-click to expand all of the columns.
↓
Sort the spreadsheet by change in total phosphorus loss. Scroll over to column AO, click on AO text to select the entire column,
then select Sort Largest to Smallest from the Excel Sort & Filter menu. Select the Expand the selection option if prompted.
→
→
You can then scroll back over to column C to see a summary of the adopted practices that will optimize phosphorus reduction for that field.
